ICSRA speaks at Seimas, the Lithuanian Parliament

A delegation from ICSRA spoke on a special meeting in the Lithuanian Parliament on the 16th of November about Planet Youth, the Icelandic method and what can be done to restrain substance use among young people. The meeting was organized by the the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Special focus was laid on the positive effect which we have seen in the participation of young people in organized sports activities, under the guidance of educated sports trainers. The speakers were Inga Dora Sigfusdottir, ICSRA research director, Bryndis Bjork Asgeirsdóttir  senior scientist at ICSRA and head of Reykjavik University Department of Psychology and Vidar Halldorsson, senior lecturer at the University of Iceland, a sociologist which has specialized in sports research.

ICSRA is really honoured to be able to speak at such high level in Lithuania and hopes that the shared knowledge will have positive effect and will strengthen Lithuania in their effort to protect their children and adolescents from substance use, building a healthy generation. ICSRA has already started a cooperation with authorities in the cities Vilnius, Klaipeda and Kaunas. The meeting was broadcasted via YouTube, with Lithuanian translations and can be seen here:
