New Communities Join the Planet Youth Guidance Program in Canada

Planet Youth continues to expand its footprint across Canada. Last week, new agreements were signed with the First Nations of Na-Cho Nyak Dun, Selkirk, and Little Salmon Carmacks in Yukon, deepening our engagement in the territory. These communities join Old Crow in applying the Planet Youth Guidance Program.

Two additional sites are preparing to begin implementation: Vitalité Health Network – Région Nord-Ouest in New Brunswick and the town of Blackfalds in Alberta.

Over the past 18 months, the partnership with PHAC, the KDE Hub at the University of Waterloo, and committed teams in participating provinces and territories has laid a strong foundation. The Planet Youth model supports local coalitions through regular project management, knowledge-sharing, and structured implementation support.

Each site benefits from an assigned project manager, access to the Planet Youth Academy for training and tools, and close collaboration with our data team—who prepare and refine youth surveys, analyze findings, and deliver customized community and school-level reports. These reports serve as the starting point for targeted, community-led action plans.

Planet Youth will also take part in the CCSA conference in Halifax (November 17–19), continuing conversations on how to build long-term, evidence-based prevention efforts across Canada.
