New employees hired to Planet Youth

Five new employees have been hired to Planet Youth into various positions around the world.

Anna Bara Unnarsdottir has been hired as a Knowledge Specialist at Planet Youth. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Public Health Sciences, both from the University of Iceland. She has worked as a Project Manager and a PHD student at the Centre of Public Health Sciences, University of Iceland, where she coordinated interdisciplinary international collaborations among nine research teams across six countries.

Helgi Thor Magnusson has been hired as a Marketing Manager at Planet Youth. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with focus on marketing and international business, from Háskóli Íslands and a master’s degree in international marketing and Brand Management, from Lund University. He was the Head of Marketing for Verkfæri ehf.

Irma Leinerte has been hired as a Junior Data Visualization Specialist at Planet Youth. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, from the University of Iceland and a Bachelor of Humanities in Asian Studies, from the University of Latvia. She worked as a Data Scientist at Hafrannsóknastofnun and has experience in data analysis and research, as well as youth work and project management in Latvia.

Melanie Cormier has been hired as a Project Manager supporting sites in North America. She is a registered dietitian with over 10 years of experience in Public Health. Melanie has most recently held the position of Senior Program Advisor with the Government of New Brunswick, leading the implementation of Planet Youth New Brunswick.

Jessie Carmona Sánchez has been hired as a Regional Representative for Mexico and Latin America at Planet Youth Mexico. She is a psychologist and has a master’s degree in social and political communication. She has been coordinator of the addiction prevention and care program in the state of Guanajuato Mexico and has worked mainly in work related to health and social sciences for the benefit of community well-being.
