How to keep children away from drugs

Kelly Anthony, PhD from the School of Public Health and Health Systems in the University of Waterloo wrote about the Icelandic model in the opinion column in the Waterloo Region Record. 

I applaud the bravery of public school boards to resist the pressure to put naloxone kits in schools. Extensive evidence suggests that this is both unnecessary and distracts them, and diverts funds from educating and nurturing safe, happy kids. Schools need to stay focused on more upstream and effective ways of keeping kids from early drug use and addiction. [ … ]
